This creative collective founded by Ann Hatch, is a brilliant example of encouraging, supporting and showcasing artistic talent. In the heart of the cool Dogpatch neighborhood of San Francisco, you'll know you're in the right spot immediately- since the name is painted on the exterior of the building.
Inside, Workshop is providing residents with not only a beautiful studio workplace, but also a home, living stipend, production budget, and 'a dedicated staff there to help facilitate and create.'
The artists are in residence from six weeks to two months, all the while creating crafts/designs/art with 'eight distinct approaches per year'.
The Workshop pieces are sold through the gallery, as well as online and select retail partners and it's important to point out that production supports Bay Area small businesses, and profits from sales are split with the resident.
While you're in the neighborhood, be sure to grab a coffee next door at Piccino.
