Set along the boundary of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Swag’s 14 guest rooms feature patchwork quilts, postcard views of North Carolina’s mountains, and in most cases, wood-burning stoves. Personalized hiking sticks come in handy for outings on the surrounding trails and make great souvenirs. When the dinner bell rings, guests gather to share tales of wilderness adventures over local trout, grilled lamb chops, and salads made from the on-site garden’s vegetables. The inn doesn’t serve alcohol, but you are welcome to bring your own. From $495.
