Where Africa & Europe Nearly Smooch
Flying from Marrakech to Madrid, you may be lucky enough to see the Strait of Gibraltar from your window. The continents of Europe and Africa are separated by a little less than 9 miles at the narrowest point, and on a clear day you can stand in Spain and see all the way to the Moroccan shore and vice versa. Also connecting at this pivotal point, the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. If you're not flying, you can take a ferry between Gibraltar and Tangier.
