The Mantis Collection, Stanley and Livingstone Private Game Reserve, and the Nakavango Conservation Program are offering travelers an exciting chance to experience an Elephant Relocation Safari. The authentic, immersive experience provides guests with the opportunity to see what goes into monitoring protected areas and the importance of balancing an ecosystem. Based on research carried out by the Reserve Manager, Mantis aims to reduce the current elephant population by 5 – 7% to maintain an ecological equilibrium.
Elephant bulls will be relocated into neighboring nationals parks. By moving off bulls specifically, disturbance to breeding herds will be kept to a minimum. Between 5 and 10 bulls will be relocated, depending on the overall elephant population on the reserve at the time. The experience includes game drives, a helicopter journey, elephant relocating and monitoring, leisure time in Victoria Falls, and much more.
