The Power and the Glory is a hipster bistro in the center of Cape Town that has attracted a cult following among locals. It's something about the relaxed style of the folding chairs and the sidewalk stools that reminds me of a Brooklyn-style cafe. If you can snag a chair, it makes for a great place to work remotely or to have a meeting over a light breakfast. In the evening, the place is usually packed with revelers. Try the quiche in the morning, the pretzel bun hot dog in the evening, and the Nutella cheesecake for dessert.

Go for the Coffee, Stay for the Wine
Local cool-kid hangout The Power and the Glory is one of those coffeshops that serves excellent single-origin coffee by day and then slowly transitions to a wine bar with pours from nearby vineyards. Don't miss the co-owned Hallelujah next door, which serves excellent pan-asian tapas (duck tacos in ramen shells, spicy coriander shrimp buns).
