We strolled the Borghese Gardens, Rome's version of Central Park, with no destination, a bunch of snacks, and plenty of daylight. After entering the gates we noticed a steady stream of adults heading one way with toddlers, so we followed to this wooden playhouse. Mia immediately knew what to do, running up and down the steps and back and forth between its small wings. The whole space consists of wooden toys on dirt or sawdust, completely opposite of the protected plastic bs rubber on so many US playgrounds. Located just next to it is a kids rec center and bookstore where Mia colored alongside Roman kids on an afternoon out with their families.
