The Pentagon Tour is the kind of immersive American experience you should not skip. It attracts more than 100,000 visitors a year for good reason. On the hour-long, 1.5-mile walking tour, you'll peek into the world's largest low-rise office building and the heart of the nations history. Displays and photographs capture defining moments in military history, including the Hall of Heroes, the POW-MIA Corridor, and the 9/11 Memorial Chapel. Military personnel present a concise overview of the respective missions of the five military branches, the Department of Defense, and the building itself.
You'll need to plan ahead though—reservations may be booked online from 14 to 90 days in advance. Bring a valid photo I.D. and confirmation letter, and arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled tour to pass through scanned security.
