Memphis is a progressive city that still prides itself on some of its connections to the Old South. One of those can be found in the lobby of The Peabody Memphis hotel at the corner of Union Avenue and Second Street.
It’s said that the Mississippi Delta begins in the historic hotel’s lobby. And what better way to experience the Delta than with ducks swimming in a hotel lobby fountain?
Watch the ducks make their march from a penthouse suite on the hotel's rooftop down the elevator and along a red carpet through the lobby daily at 11 a.m. They swim in the fountain until 5 p.m. when it's time for the big march back up. The spectacle is fun for kids of all ages.
