India’s Park hotel chain specializes in economical, stylish hotels for business travelers. The recently refurbished New Delhi property has a prime location in the middle of Connaught Place, the city’s central shopping and business hub. Not only are guests within walking distance of many shops and restaurants, but the hotel itself has become a trendy nightlife beacon. The reception area can be busy, but the safe, convenient location makes up for occasional lapses in service.

The hotel overlooks the city center, particularly the 18th-century Jantar Matar Observatory park, a 15-minute walk away, and is a 350-yard walk to Rajiv Chowk, the central hub of the new clean, efficient, if crowded metro system (each train has at least one women-only car). Taxis and tuk-tuks are available at a moment’s notice for shopping and sightseeing in the Connaught Circus area where cottage crafts—silver, textiles, wood carving—abound. The National Museum and the all-caste Hindu Laxmi Narayan Mandir Temple (inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in 1939) are less than a mile away.
