The Park New Delhi
India’s Park hotel chain specializes in economical, stylish hotels for business travelers. The recently refurbished New Delhi property has a prime location in the middle of Connaught Place, the city’s central shopping and business hub. Not only are guests within walking distance of many shops and restaurants, but the hotel itself has become a trendy nightlife beacon. The reception area can be busy, but the safe, convenient location makes up for occasional lapses in service.

Neighborhood Vibe
The hotel overlooks the city center, particularly the 18th-century Jantar Matar Observatory park, a 15-minute walk away, and is a 350-yard walk to Rajiv Chowk, the central hub of the new clean, efficient, if crowded metro system (each train has at least one women-only car). Taxis and tuk-tuks are available at a moment’s notice for shopping and sightseeing in the Connaught Circus area where cottage crafts—silver, textiles, wood carving—abound. The National Museum and the all-caste Hindu Laxmi Narayan Mandir Temple (inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in 1939) are less than a mile away.

Insider Tips
Who’s it best for: Independent travelers who want to explore on foot and party with locals. Business travelers who want a central location.
Our favorite rooms: The hotel underwent a renovation in 2015. Ask for a refurbished room on a high floor overlooking the Jantar Matar Observatory.
Plan ahead: Leave plenty of time for check-out, as staff are sometimes overwhelmed at peak hours.
