The oldest wooden schoolhouse

In the Garden of the Oldest Wooden Schoolhouse.
The structure at 14 St. George Street in St. Augustine, Florida is reportedly the oldest "wooden" schoolhouse in the country. The original build date goes unremembered but the building is first mentioned in the tax records for the year 1716. While the small structure is interesting, furnished as it is thought to have looked at the time, the real reason to purchase a ticket is the garden in the rear courtyard of the building. Paved walkways meander through the beds showcasing a diverse collection of plants, flowers, artifacts, statues, and trees.
