It's rare to find an outdoors bar in Auckland away from the water, but this one does it well. A new arrival on the dining scene - and like all cool places, with a slightly hard-to-find entrance - my favourite part of The Glass Goose is its Raw Kitchen menu, "... food in its natural state that hasn't been heated over 48 degrees celsius."
Since Paleo and Raw are de riguer these days, I thought I'd give their dishes a go and came away more than pleasantly surprised. The kale, salmon, fennel and macadamia nut salad is to die for, but my favourite is the thinly sliced beef, broccoli (yes, broccoli!), walnuts, celeriac, apple and reddish slaw. Yum yum.
