Of course, it’s silly to say that Sirocco only became popular because of the Hangover 2 movie, but the extra publicity helped. It has always been a stand-out destination for lavish drinks with a great view and is ideal for budding photographers to grab some great snaps of the city.
Perched atop the Lebua hotel, Sirocco has a graceful winding staircase descending down from The Dome to a platform which provides a spectacular view of the Chao Phraya River and Bangkok skyline.
My tip is to make sure you dress appropriately. The bar has a strict dress code which many travelers often overlook. As with many of the city’s luxurious bars, dress codes require closed shoes (no flip-flops or sandals) and no shorts. Also, next door to Sirocco is a slightly quieter bar called Distil which offers a very similar view but less crowds.
