Sunrise at the The Bayon Temple
5:30 am. Before the sweltering heat kicks in. Before the throngs of tourists arrive. Before the temples of Angkor buzz with activity.
While most early risers make their way to Angkor Wat, we moved a little farther on...to the Bayon Temple. As the sun rose on the Temple of Smiles, we were alone among the ruins, surrounded by the smiling statues, the cool morning air, and...silence.
