This street is packed with great cafes and restaurants. My favorite is Sarnies, a quaint and cozy cafe tucked at the corner of Telok Ayer and Boon Tat St. Sarnies, that makes great house-brewed coffees and sandwiches. The service is excellent too. I also like Urban Bites, diagonally opposite Sarnies, for authentic Mediterranean food, and Vanilla Cafe & Bar on Boon Tat St for a fusion of Japanese and Western food. There are many authentic Korean restaurants around this area too. In the evening, the neighborhood is an oasis in otherwise noisy Singapore because by then the working crowd has gone home, leaving a quiet peaceful street. I like strolling these lanes, exploring new eats, and admiring the beautiful architecture. The street is about a 10-minute walk from Raffles Place MRT or Tanjong Pagar MRT.
