Taxco is an old silver mining town South West of Mexico City. Built on the side of a mountain, everywhere you walk is either straight up a large hill or straight down. The streets are too narrow to allow for normal cars so, almost, the entire city is serviced by old VW bugs. The Hotel Mi Casita was wonderful, cheap and ideally situated. If you are lucky enough to stay while there is a thunderstorm, you will undoubtedly think the mountain will crumble as you watch the water cascade down the streets in such volumes that a kayak would be an appropriate method of travel.
