My days spent in Turkey always remind me of the beloved nar (pomegranate) fruit. Though it's ridiculously overpriced in Istanbul, especially when it's out of season in summer, it's dirt cheap in other places where it grows abundantly in season like Marmaris. Though I craved my nar juice, I wasnt about to pay exorbitant prices of 14 lira--completely insane. So I waited patiently for my journey South to the Med. in the meanwhile these ceramic pomegranates were a lovely substitute for my cravings.
