A great hike for amateur hikers! This is one of the oldest trails and packs a good challenge with great sights for its 10.3km route, which takes you about 6-7hours depending on your speed.
You don't need a tour group for this and can simply flag a taxi from the streets to take you to the park or hire a private driver if you like. Doesn't cost too much.
Start the trail from Cimu Bridge towards Swallow Grotto because it's easier from this direction. It's a bit of a climb in the beginning but well worth the views when you get to the top!
You're treated to rolling green hills, the gorge far down below, mind you don't get too near the edge, and rock formations! The surroundings make for great pictures too :)
There are some parts where you had to hold on to ropes at the side of the wall to pull yourself up! It was quite fun actually, but I my heart was beating really fast when I was doing it lol.
Wear at least proper running / sports shoes because it's slippery at some parts and pack a poncho. Wear long pants too! You may want to rent a hard hat and hiking stick before you start but my friend and I managed fine without those, although the stick would have come in handy at some parts ;)
Lastly, make sure you apply for the permit to hike this trail at the park website in advance!
This was definitely the highlight of my trip because it beats doing the usual stuff in the city.
