In a desperate effort to leave work and life behind for a few days, I boarded a flight to the Maldives, where wifi was scare and tropical breezes make palm trees dance.
An overwater bungalow seemed like the natural choice on a Maldivian Island where the water neatly laps against the pilings and a private staircase into the clear turquoise saltwater below.
Somehow, doing nothing seemed to go by far too fast: a long coffee stop and morning walk - turns into lunch and a lazy splash or snorkel in the water to become part of the sea life - that fades into dinner and a quiet sit on the private patio while the sun closes the day.
I left refreshed, but not ready to say 'farewell' to the idyllic island country. I'm sure I'll return!
