When summer arrives in Toronto, there’s music in the air. Michael can arrange your trip to coincide with one of the city’s many cultural festivals. The Luminato Festival, which runs from June 10 to June 26, embraces dance, music and theater. Celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, highlights of the schedule include Rufus Wainwright recreating Judy Garland’s concert at Carnegie Hall and the National Theatre of Scotland performing Rona Munro’s The James Plays, a history trilogy focused on three early Scottish kings. Arcade Fire, the Killers, and LCD Soundsystem are among the headliners at Way Home (July 22 to 24). Finally, fans of electronic music may want to time their trip to coincide with the Veld Music Festival (July 30 and 31) at Downsview Park.
It’s not just Toronto that has a busy summer festival season. Check out itineraries to all of Canada at AFAR Journeys and then pack for a night out in Halifax, Montreal, Vancouver or another city.
