Taking a cue from the food truck craze, designers and owners have taken their fashion savvy to the street in an effort to expand their brands. But unlike food trucks, customers can step inside these traveling boutiques to browse and shop. I encountered one such truck in the Clarendon neighborhood called Street Boutique, owned (and driven) by Sharlia Lee, who invited me to step in. It felt like being inside a woman's closet.
Wanting to know more about her store, she best described it to me as "A mobile fashion truck that provides curbside designer fashion. Street Boutique's vibe is eclectic and trendy; you'll always find hip and unique products on the truck. We offer women's apparel, accessories, jewelry, shoes, and gifts. Street Boutique carries designer brands like Collective Concepts, Street Level, Ark n Co, Naked Zebra, Sugarlips and more."
