“18 Miles of Books” is the slogan at this nearly century-old Union Square bookshop—and it’s not hyperbole. The Strand’s warren of high-ceilinged rooms contains more than 2.5 million new and used titles, and browsing for treasures here can quickly eat up most of an afternoon. The staffers are what booksellers should be: deeply knowledgeable and passionate about all things print.

A Bibliophile's Mecca
If you love books, a visit to the world-famous Strand Book store is a must when you go to New York. The store is most famous for having 18 miles of books which can be overwhelming when you first walk in but everything is super organized on all four floors and you could spend hours browsing in there which is kind of a nice break when you need to get away from the crowds on the street or the summertime humidity. I love this place and hope to be back again!
