Falkland Islands Museum & National Trust

History buffs who want to learn about local traditions should visit the Falkland Islands Museum & National Trust. It's actually made up of several buildings, including the Historic Dockyard Museum and Cartmell Cottage, one of the original colonists’ cottages from 1849, brought in kit form from Britain. Today the cottage functions as a living museum, re-creating life as it was in distinct periods in the Falklands: the 1850s, the 1940s and the 1970s.
