While I'm usually not a fan of organized tours, our quick trip to Dublin had me looking for the most efficient way to see some of the Irish countryside without the luxury of time to explore too far outside of the city. Enter Wild Wicklow Tours. We spent a day touring the Wicklow Mountain area and enjoyed the sights related to many a film, the slightly famous Guinness beer, and the rolling green hills we think of when we think of Ireland. St Kevin's, a 6th century monastic settlement, was the definite highlight. The grounds, buildings, and lake were all beautiful and offered many good hiking opportunities, a good dose of history, and the light seemed to play differently in every location. A great day with minimal logistical hassle. I left feeling like I had enjoyed Dublin but gotten a small taste of what else Ireland has to offer.
