St. John

The smallest of the U.S. Virgin Islands, St. John is only accessible via ferry from St. Thomas. The pristine expanse, 60 percent of which is a national park, is perfect for adventure lovers: Hiking trails crisscross Cinnamon Bay Park, and there's horseback and donkey riding as well as cycling. Don't miss spectacular Trunk Bay—one of the most photographed places in all of the U.S.V.I.—home to the Underwater Trail, a snorkeling path along the coral reef, complete with submerged signage.
