We had one (all too brief, if you ask me) night in Salt Lake City after our day exploring Bryce Canyon National Park during our Go Ahead Tour. It was ‘round sundown by the time we checked into our hotel, so I took advantage of the pretty city light to do a little downtown wandering – and some culinary and brewery exploring.
I ended up at Squatter’s brew pub, a hopping joint packed with a happy-go-lucky happy hour crowd well into the second round. I sampled from the core and seasonal draft lists – I highly recommend the nitro version of Captain Bastards – and enjoyed a tremendous curry (and a few other pub stables, like those I photographed here), all the while asking locals about the history of the beer named Polygamy Porter. When in Utah, after all.
