Soufriere-Scott's Head Marine Reserve

At the southern tip of Dominica, where the calm Caribbean meets the turbulent Atlantic, you'll find the Soufriere-Scott's Head Marine Reserve. Over decades of skirmishes, the English and French took turns controlling this headland; today, it makes for a pleasant outing just south of Roseau. Different parts of the watery reserve, which is set in an extinct volcanic crater, are dedicated to a fish nursery, swimming and snorkeling, angling and scuba diving—this is considered one of the top 10 diving destinations in the world. You'll also see fine views of the neighboring island of Martinique across the sea.
