Södermalm is a beautiful area right on the water, connected to the surrounding mainland by bridges. It’s one of the most popular areas of Stockholm, with tons of history, where you can find the most bars and restaurants in town. If you happen to be a fan of Stieg Larsson’s novels, you’ll recognize some of Blomqvist’s haunts: Nytorget in SoFo or Mellqvists Kafé Bar on Hornsgatan.
This is also where you’ll get direct perspective on truly how stylish the Swedes are; Södermalm has a multitude of unusual, contemporary boutiques for fashion, design, interior decor, and vintage merchandise. This is the trendier, younger, more bohemian part of Stockholm.
