Golfing with Hippos and Lions in Kruger National Park
First of all, I'll just say that I love golf. I love golf so much that I dragged my wife to the only public course in Kruger National Park on our Honeymoon - she was a great sport about it.
Dubbed as the most dangerous golf course in the world, Skukusa does not have any fences or barriers to prevent any of the wildlife from coming onto the course.
While signing in it finally hit me that this might not be the best idea when you are required to give you phone number while checking in so they can call you if there is a lion spotting. Needless to say I played terrible because on every shot your head is on a swivel and you give up on any ball that's not down the middle of the fairway.
There was something cool about putting on hole 9 with warthogs running around and hippos hanging out in the lake that surrounds the green.
The course isn't the best, but its nice enough that it didn't detract from the experience. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience that I would do again in a heartbeat.
