At a young 29 years old I was blessed with the trip of a lifetime which would take me to the two places in the world I wanted to go to the most: India and Singapore.
There is no room here to explain why - the reasons are many but the main one is that as a Geographer I have long studied cities and their changes both culturally and physically so to be able to take a trip and actually see the things I've learned about was pleasure beyond measure.
One of the fun facts I'd always carried with me from an Urban Geography class was about the slow transition away from the tri-rickshaw in Singapore and how rare it is to actually see one. I had never expected to see one, much less ride in one so imagine my surprise when I was walking down the street and was able to see this rare gem!
I wanted badly to wake him and ask him to take me someplace but I didn't have the heart, so I settled for this picture that tells the story of an ever evolving city of the world.
