Homemade soup at the beach
In February 2013, my husband Michael and I set off on an 8-month trip around the world. Here’s one of the many highlights of our adventure… After living in hotels for three weeks, we were happy to have a kitchen when we stayed at Awe Resort (www.aweresort.com) in Koh Phangan. Michael loves to cook and was eager to use the tom yum spice he got in Chiang Mai the previous week. We went to the market and got some fresh ingredients, including a whole fish, and then he whipped up a big pot of soup. We sat in the outdoor dining area, listened to the waves, and enjoyed tasty Thai food as the neighborhood dogs popped over to say hi (no soup for the dogs – they got dog treats).
