One of Europe’s largest hydroelectric plants, the Sima Power Plant, is on the Eidfjord, one of the innermost arms of the Hardangerfjord. The plant’s main hall is buried over 670 meters (2,200 feet) deep inside a mountain. On the mountain immediately above the power plant is the idyllic Kjeåsen Mountain Farm, a popular hiking destination thanks to its picture-postcard views across the fjord.
