The Shinta Mani Resort and Club is one of the most stylish hotel complexes in Siem Reap. It also has the biggest heart. The property is home to the Shinta Mani Foundation, a registered NGO that aims to enhance the lives of individuals in local communities by increasing their human capital and giving them the tools to overcome poverty. They have an education and development center where disadvantaged youths can receive free tuition, learn Khmer and English, and receive hospitality training at the hotel; a business education arm that provides young Cambodian entrepreneurs with interest-free, small-business loans; and a health program that supports local doctors and visiting medical professionals to provide medical check-ups in rural areas as well as preventive health measures, like educating rural Cambodians on the proper use of mosquito nets. On top of all that, they raise funds and manage donations that supports remote schools, builds houses for the very poor, and recently provided landmine victims with limbs. The Resort is also home to the weekend Made in Cambodia market. A stay at the hotel directly supports these activities as a percentage from each room rate goes directly to the Foundation.
