The 85th edition of the WYO Rodeo rides into Sheridan in July 2015, kicking off a week of Wild West adventure and rodeo fun. The Sheridan WYO Rodeo is one of the major events on both the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) circuits, which brings out the best bull and bronc riders in the world, championship steer ropers, rodeo queens, and more.
I get a kick out of the bronc riding much like everyone else who attends the rodeo, though I'm usually more impressed when watching the cowgirls ride during the speed events; the way they maneuver their horses, their grace and speed and agility, is truly spectacular, and one of the most thrilling spectacles of the annual WYO Rodeo.
The WYO Rodeo is one of the most popular annual events in the Mountain West, bringing people together for the rodeo itself, as well as the ever-popular pancake breakfast, Historic Downtown parade, Pow Wow, American Indian art sale, carnival, and the thrilling World Championship Indian Relay Races, one of America's most unique sporting events.
The 85th WYO Rodeo kicks off July 5th with the Rodeo Royalty Pageant and Horsemanship Contest, and runs through July 12th, closing with the tail gate party and polo games.
