Sure, you could stay in a brand-name hotel chain when you visit Korea’s capital, but why not try something a little different?
Korea has a plethora of “love motels,” so-called because of their propensity to be used for romantic rendezvous. However love motels have long been an inexpensive option for in-the-know expats touring the country. Ranging from $25 to $100, love motels are known for their outlandish décor, heart-shaped beds, and Jacuzzi tubs.
These low-cost accommodations can be found in abundance in nearly every neighborhood in Seoul, but they are particularly prevalent near the train stations and bus depots. They may sound seedy, but love motels make a great (and entertaining) place to crash out in Seoul.
