This place ROCKS. I've never felt so good about paying an admission fee as this is a sanctuary for injured animals. The place is magical as soon as you enter. Giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, impala, monkeys and 40 other species of wildlife roam free in this game reserve.
I had been to a couple of other reserves in South Africa, really good ones, but this place is special. The money you pay to play with the 4 - 9 month old lion cubs goes to their conservation causes.
I've been here twice and on the second visit I went into an area with adolescent lions who weighed as much as I do. They play like household kittens not realizing our skin is nowhere near as thick as theirs and their teeth, claws and muscles are... awesome. The wardons in there with us kept us safe. It is humbling to be sitting next to and petting these kings of the jungle.
The Seaview Lion Park is about 25 km’s from the Port Elizabeth city center. If you are anywhere near Port Elizabeth, you must go here and make at least a half day of it. There was an adult white male lion when we were there. Amazing.
