Seafood Palace

2218 Enterprise Blvd, Lake Charles, LA 70601, USA

Want to dine like a local? Sure you do. Seafood Palace in Lake Charles is the kind of place that the local Cajun people like to keep a secret. For me it’s about Blue Crabs. The Blue Crabs here are fantastic; heavy, sweet and seasoned to perfection. When the load of steaming crabs arrived to the table, the newbies in our party needed a little bit of coaching on how to get the most meat out of one. And I confess I didn’t care. I did what anyone who spent six years living near Blue Crabs and who hadn’t eaten any for nearly 20 years would do, I tore right in and left them in the dust. “Newbies” mastered the technique soon enough and the race to consume the entire mess of crabs was on. Hey, I take the advantage when I find it! This place is all about the fresh Gulf Seafood, you can have your shrimp, crawfish, crab, carp, redfish, frog legs, fish, and oysters prepared just about any way that you want, fried, boiled or grilled. And if you prefer chicken, yes they have that too. But why? You’ll you want to come here for the seafood. For menus, specials and what’s in season you can find them on Facebook. Incidentally this place wins the award for " Best Gumbo in Southwest Louisiana” each year. Absolutely the best! http://www.visitlakecharles.org/restaurants-culinary/ Image: Kurt Winner
