This bohemian nook on a hill in Rio de Janeiro is home to innovative art galleries, charming architecture and many great artists. A friend of mine led me there, and we spent the day soaking in the scene; peeking into studios and talking and laughing with the lovely local artists. We enjoyed walking up the hill and stopping into the beautiful shops along the way. It is the perfect place to get lost for a couple of hours. The art scene in Santa Teresa is vibrant and dynamic, celebrating both new and traditional art forms.

Rio de Janeiro Graffiti Art
Rio de Janeiro is truly a beautiful city. Yes, there is its physical beauty, a mesmerizing and breathtaking combination of picture-perfect beaches and lush forests ensconced within a historic urban setting. But there is also its soulful beauty, brought about by a people in love with life, music, and optimism.
In the hilly and antique-filled neighborhood of Santa Teresa, one of the oldest parts of the city and now a haven for artists, I came across this graffiti art which for me wondrously captured Rio's indelible qualities of celebration, movement, sensuality, and musicality, the qualities that make every traveler fall in love with it.
