Celebrated 60 days after Easter Sunday, Sevilla is apparently one of the few cities left in Spain that follows the tradition of celebrating it on its original day - a Thursday (its a public holiday here today). Floats depicting saints and characters important to Sevilla are carried by members of different "brotherhoods" of the city around the Cathedral . The final float (this one) depicts the Eucharist. The haze around the float was incense. The air was thick with it and the scent of pine (there appeared to be pine needles strewn on the ground).
