Located just outside of Santa Cruz, in the heart of the Colchagua Valley, renowned for its red wines, Casa Lapostolle is a French-owned winery (Marnier Family) known for its iconic wine Clos Apalta. In 2005, they opened the updated state-of-the-art, gravity-fed, architecturally-stunning winery perched on a steep hillside in the micro region of Apalta.
Besides making their premium wine in the winery, they designed four "casitas," little villas, each one named after the varieties in the Apalta vineyard below: Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot and Carmenère.
Now an exquisite, intimate Relais & Chateaux luxury hotel, Casa Lapostolle Residence sports beautiful views of the valley below and surrounding mountains. Guests can decompress on their private terrace or in the lodge or by the infinity pool, sipping (of course) house wines. The food program sources the majority of its produce from its own biodynamic/organic garden and local producers in creative, dynamic creations. Of course, visiting the winery buried six stories into the hillside is a must. Only hotel guests can visit the owners' divine wine cellar on the tour.
Villas start at US$1,500 per night, full board.
