When my husband and I went on a getaway, little did we know we picked the best time to experience Santa Barbara. During their annual Spanish Days, the city celebrated its Mexican heritage.
The streets were alive with activity. On the harbor, artists set up booths. On the streets, vendors sold lovely eggs stuffed with confetti, designed for you to throw in celebration. Of course an eruption of colorful paper would ensue. The whole city had events planned throughout the night and no tickets were required. This was taken at the Santa Barbara Courthouse Sunken Gardens as dancers fiery flamenco and folklorico dances from Mexico.
Best of all, one could walk everywhere to take it all in.
