Sandwich Harbour 4x4

I clung to the bar on the seat in front of me as we bobbed in all directions, like a bouey in open seas, over the sand dunes. Our driver, Hennie, looked back at me and smirked. He skillfully drove up to the top of a tall dune, high above of the Atlantic Ocean. We lay down in the sand, careful not to get too close to the soft yet steep edge, and watched the tiny heads of bobbing Cape Fur seals in the distance below. I felt a fleeting sense of relief we had made it through the trackless rollercoaster ride, at least this far. I looked back at our vehicle in the distance. If I squinted, it looked like a tiny ant in the sand. After several more stomach dropping maneuvers and a small picnic in a valley among the dunes, we made our way back to Walvis Bay. A ride with Sandwich Harbour 4x4 is the best way to experience the Namib Desert.
