I clung to the bar on the seat in front of me as we bobbed in all directions over a sea of sand dunes. Our driver, Hennie, looked back at me and smirked. He skillfully drove up to the top of a tall dune towering above of the Atlantic Ocean. We lay down in the sand, watching the tiny heads of bobbing Cape Fur seals in the distance below. I felt a fleeting sense of relief we had made it through the trackless rollercoaster ride at least this far. I looked back at our vehicle in the distance and it looked like a lost little ant. After several more stomach dropping maneuvers and a small picnic in a valley among the dunes, we made our way back to Walvis Bay.
