San Francisco Botanical Garden

Located within Golden Gate Park, the San Francisco Botanical Garden is one of the United States' most important botanical gardens and the largest of its kind on the West Coast. Thanks to the Bay Area's mild climate, with coastal fogs keeping extreme temperatures in check, a huge variety of plant species thrive here: It's home to some 7,500 plant species across 22 hectares (55 acres). And whenever you visit, you can count on something being at its peak, from magnolias in bloom in winter, to the California native garden, whose flora are at their best in May and June.
