San Francisco is one of those cities that should be experienced from the water as much as on land.
Sailing in San Francisco Bay is one of my all-time favorite activities. During one of the weekends where I was working on passing another level of sailing classes, we had one of those interesting days where the fog seemed to be playing games with us.
It rolled in, covering the city skyline, but then would roll back out. It would roll in, causing the Golden Gate Bridge to seemingly disappear, then it would roll back out. This went on and on. At one point, it rolled in, covered the city except for the tops of the buildings. The wind then completely died and left us and the other boats on the Bay sitting in calm waters. That's when I grabbed this shot.
When you come to San Francisco, make sure you find a way to get yourself out on the water...even if it's just a ferry ride to Sausalito, it'll be worth it!
