Frequent champion of the Eastern Regional Barista Championships, Sam James opened up his shop on a sleepy strip of Harbord near Brickford Park in 2009. He's come a long way since then with two other shops in the city, his Coffee Pocket near Christie Station and another shop in the Financial District's Path.
James keeps it simple at his original location. A bench and some stools and under 10 items of coffee to choose from. No more siphon. Just your straight up coffee with a few extras.
Aside from Rooster Coffee, this may be my favourite place to get a chai latte. Service is friendly and professional, just like James. A great pit stop in exploring the Annex.
