With sunny days and mild weather throughout much of the year in Sacramento, walking tours are a great way to see the city and enjoy the outdoors. Sacramento Heritage Inc. has created a resource page of self-guided walking tours (see link below), many of which lead visitors past some of Downtown Sacramento's historic buildings. On the city's two original streets, J and K Streets, be sure to look up and notice the architectural details of the Victorian, Renaissance Revival, and Art Deco styles. My personal favorites in this area are City Hall and Crest Theater.
After the tour, you may want to try local beer at River City Brewing Co. or the city's best coffee at Temple on J and 9th before continuing to nearby Old Sacramento or the Capitol.
