Sa Llotja
Sa Llotja
The 14th-century Llotja (the word is Catalan for "exchange") was an important civil building during Mallorca’s medieval golden age when traders from all over the Mediterranean came to buy and sell wares under its soaring roof. The building, which has pride of place in the old port of Palma, is a Gothic masterpiece by Guillem Sagrera, with twisting slender columns carved from golden local stone and restored to their original glory.
