A place of fascinating Māori culture, hot springs and boiling mud pools. No visit to New Zealand would be complete without stopping in Rotorua on New Zealand’s North Island. Waiotapu is one of the central North Island’s most extensive geothermal areas. It takes three to four hours to walk around the reserve, which is known for its brightly colored crater lakes and silica terraces.
