Rose Seidler House

71 Clissold Rd, Wahroonga NSW 2076, Australia

About half an hour north of Sydney, right on the edge of the Ku-ring-gai National Park, you’ll find this mid-century gem of Bauhaus architecture. The house was built in 1949/50 by Austrian architect Harry Seidler for his parents Rose and Max. The living space blurs inside and outside seamlessly, almost floating in the landscape. As Harry Seidler described it: "...there’s never an obstruction to your vision, it is a continuum (of space)”. Unlike most homes of that era (available to the public), this one still contains a collection of its original furniture by Eames, Saarinen and Hardoy. Open 11am - 4pm Sundays. http://www.hht.net.au/museums/rose_seidler_house Join AFAR Experiences and discover the REAL Sydney–May 6-9, 2013: http://www.afarexperiences.com/
