A unique place in Paris, far away from the city buildings and fancy clubs, here you can smell the fresh air of nature, before hitting the dance floor.
Located inside Parc des Buttes Chaumont, Rosa Bonheur is a charming colourful guinguette (open air café / dance-hall).
It’s a perfect place to have drinks while sitting on wooden benches and enjoying sunset on the park.
I have been there dozens of times the last few years, and once I sipped enough glasses of wine, it always comes to the same 2 options:
1/ Being reasonable and feed myself with French snacks (Duck rillettes, alias «Rillettes de magret de canard » in French, are a thrill).
2/ Let loose and liven up the evening by crossing the crowd and find a spot for dancing. Their playlist is a good party mix of oldies and new tracks.
The Parisians here are in their 30’s, everyone is mixed, and it’s really easy to meet new people.
Open from noon until midnight, early arrival is highly recommended, especially on summer weekends, when arriving around 6pm is already borderline to avoid a line.
