Every year in early November, you might find yourself artsy Roosevelt Row in downtown Phoenix, buying a $10 sampling ticket and tasting pie after pie after pie baked by chef after chef after chef.
Personally? I love this idea - a community pie-based get-together. It makes me want to start a grassroots pie-social back home.
There's croquet and music and vintage goodies, too, but the pie is the drawcard and the namesake and is worth getting into the city for. Just be warned - it may be Thanksgiving before you can even set eyes on pie again. BYO coffee, you'll need it.
